Brief description of Ultracet Tramacip Medicine:

Ultracet is a wonderful medicine treat to treat mild to severe pain. It contains twodifferent medicines known as Tramadol (37.5mg) and Acetaminophen (325mg) and is used to relieving acute pain, moderate pain and pain that arises due to the dental or surgical treatment. It was approved in the year 2001 by FDA. The two medicines work in a different manner and have strong effect on pain.

Mechanism of action of Ultracet Tramacip:

Tramadol works by binding with the opioid receptor on the nerve and is responsible to inhibit the re uptake by nerves of neurotransmitters serotonin and nor epinephrine that are used by nerve for communication. 

The inhibiting property leads in the reduction of pain signal transmission between the nerves of the spinal cord and brain. On the other hand, Acetaminophen works by enhancing the strength of painful spur which is responsible for receiving pain sensation by inhibiting enzymes that produces prostaglandin.

Dosage and how to use Ultracet Tramacip Medicine:

In patients who are having creatinine clearance less than 30 mL/min, only 2 Ultracet tablet should be given and gap of 12 hours should be maintained between the doses. Ultracet should not be used for more than 5 days.

Ultracet can be taken with or without food. In a day, not more than 8 tablets should be taken.

Contraindications of Ultracet Tramacip:

  • Do not take this drug if the patient is suffering from liver disease, heart failure.
  • The medicine is contraindicated if there is any kind of hypersensitivity towards the active ingredients.

Drug interactions:

  • Below mentioned drugs interacts with Ultracet and results in unwanted effects. The drugs are- Sumatriptan – Treximet ,  Ketoconazole – Nizoral,

Rifampin – Rifadin, Digoxin – Lanoxin, Qunidine - Quin G and Warfarin – Jantoven

Side effects of Ultracet Tramacip Medicine:

Side effects that are associated with the use of this medicine are headache, constipation, dizziness, stomach pain, diarrhoea, nausea, feeling of anxiety, rashes on skin, and increase in sweating and vomiting etc.
Missed dose:

The dosing schedule should be maintained as such. If the dose is missed, it should be taken as soon as remember. If it is the time of next dose, missed dose is skipped and the next dose should be taken as per schedule.

Overdose of Ultracet:

Overdosing should not be done. It may be accidental or intentional. Various symptoms can appear on overdosing e.g. vomiting, nausea, seizures and unwanted effects.

Safety measures of Ultracet Tramacip Medicine:

Following precautionary measures should be followed while taking Ultracet-tramacip plus-

  • Do not take this drug if you are taking another drug of same category.
  • The medicine should not be taken by the patients of liver and kidney.
  • Alcohol should be avoided while taking this medicine.
  • It is a habit forming medicine, so it should not be taken on routinely basis.
  • The patient should contact to the doctor in case if skin becomes red and rashes appears on the skin

Storage:

This Ultracet should be kept away from children and stored at room temperature that ranges from 15 degree centigrade to 30 degree centigrade.
