Overview of Ovidac-pregnyl-hcg-2000iu
Ovidac 2000 IU consists of generic hormone human chorionic gonadotropins and is used in treatment of infertility in men and women. HCG helps to promote the process of ovulation in females due to which chances of getting pregnant get increase. HCG is also used in the treatment of hypogonadism in males due to which sperm production increases. Ovidac 2000IU is also used in the management of cryptorchidism in young men.
Mechanism of action:
Working mechanism of human chorionic gonadotropins is similar as that of luteinizing hormone. It helps in producing progesterone that is responsible for maturation and release of an egg from ovaries by enhancing the growth of corpus luteum. In male person, HCG enhances the production of testosterone in leydig cells and process of spermatogenesis in the seminiferous tubules.
Dosage and how to take:
Ovidac 2000IU is available in the form of injectable and is injected via intramuscular route. With a dose of 5000 IU to 10000 IU of Ovidac via intramuscular route, ovulation induces in woman. With a dose of 4000 IU of Ovidac via intramuscular route three times in a week for approximately 9 months enhances the sperm count in men. To manage cryptorchidism in young people, 5000 IU of Ovidac should be administer via intramuscular route.
Use of Ovidac-2000IU-hcg-injection is contraindicated-
Ovidac-2000iu-hcg-injection interacts with drugs like tretinoin, bevacizumab, thalidomide, darbepoetin and many other drugs.
Some common side effects because of Ovidac-2000IU-hcg-injection include headache, exhaustion, fatigue, edema, agitation, irritability, gynecomastia, pain or swelling at the point of the skin where injection has been injected.
The missed dose should be taken as soon as possible. If it is the time of next scheduled dose, missed dose should be skipped and the regular dosage schedule is followed.
If overdosing is done, medical help should be taken immediately.
Ovidac 2000IU should be stored in refrigerator but should not be freezed.
