Brief description of Bimat Eye Drops:
Bimat eye drops is used by those persons who wants to alleviate intraocular pressure within the eye by enhancing natural flow of eye fluids. These drops have a use in glaucoma conditions.
The active compound of this drug is Bimatoprost. This is the best medication to treat hypotrichosis (short eyelashes). It increases the length, thickness and color of eyelashes. These eye drops are also used to reduce intraocular pressure in patients diagnosed with glaucoma.
Detailed description of drug:
Bimat eye drops were manufactured by Ajanta pharma ltd in India. The main active ingredient Bimatoprost belongs to the prostaglandin analogs class of medicine. The therapeutic activity is imparted by reducing fluid content levels and increases the outflow of fluids from eyes. Hence it helps in reducing pressure.
Doses and method of administration:
Keep the eye open and carefully squeeze a few drops of the medication into the eye. Slowly close and reopen the eyes to help spread liquid over the eye. To apply the drops to eye lashes, squeeze a one drop of solution on the applicator’s tip, and run the applicator along the eyelash.
The correct dosage and prescription of these drops commonly depend on the patient and the condition being treated. The dose should not be adjusted without the approval of physician. The eye drops should be used as prescribed. These eye drops should be used once in a day.
Side-effects of drug:
The common side effects of this drug are eye irritation, burning, stinging, redness, dryness and watering, dizziness, headache, itchy eyes as well as increased light sensitivity and discolouration of iris. Some more side effects are pain in the eyes, vision changes, discharge from the eyes, pink eyes, swelling of eyelid and vision blurriness.

The dose should not be missed. If it is missed, it should be taken as soon as remember. If it is the time of next dosing schedule, forget the missed dose and regular dosing schedule is followed as such.
