Avana is a medicine commonly used to treat erectile dysfunction. Mechanism of action:
The active medicine of avana is avanafil which is the inhibitor of PDE-5 enzyme. The medicine blocks PDE 5 in smooth muscle cells which lines blood vessels that supplies blood to the corpus cavernosum. As the PDE-5 enzyme get blocked, level of Cyclic GMP rises and blood flow towards male genitalia increases providing hard and stiff erection.
Dosage and how to use Avana 100mg:
Initially the medicine should be started with a dose of 100mg and then the dose is increased depending upon the reaction of the patient towards medicine. The medicine should be taken at once in 24 hours.
Drug interactions of Avana 100mg Medication:
The medicine interacts with alpha blockers, antihypertensives, anticoagulant and antifungal drugs.
Headache, dizziness, flushing, nasal congestion, pain in back, loss of vision, loss of hearing, priapism and pain in stomach can occur as side effects while taking avana 100mg.
Missed dose of Avana 100mg:
If a dose is missed, it should be taken as soon as possible. If it is the time of next dose, missed dose is skipped and the regular dosing schedule is followed.
